I love using my "Two Hour Slice and Dice Table Runner" and this time, I used Christmas fabric instead of the photo colors as seen below. Which you'll just  love and you can carry on to make dozens of funky and wild quilts from full size bed size to tiny minis too! More on those another time. These are where you end up in about 2 hrs of your time. Its a Christmas Puzzle! I decided on the size that ALL blocks would become the same size. 15 1/2 inches sq to be exact. And there you have it, 5 blocks from 5 FQ. Ok, so were do we go now with these, up next is the finished table runner! Yes, it turned out totally lovely and its on its way to a friend for Christmas who has this enormous dining table, this runner was 85 inches long, it has a lovely snowy fabric border and machine quilting. I forgot to get a photo, you know how it goes, you're running around finding wrapping paper and just the right size of box and then its wrapped and done. On...

Well, I heard a few days ago that my postcard had arrived in France. Lin emailed me and I wondered how come I had nothing in the mail? Then it arrived yesterday and its so cute, I love it! Thanks Lin , now I understand that a fabric postcard really means a postcard! Click on Lin's name for a look at the many postcards that Lin has received, yeh! Of course, I had to do a little crazy stitches in this postcard for Lin. I'm having a nice chillin' day quilting away! It will be a table runner when complete. See you soon... Carli

I couldn't really wrap anything up until I finished them, so here are the project that I've pulled out of special boxes to begin finishing them and while I'm finishing these lovelies, I'll prepare a bunch of tutorials which I'll link up to from my blog. First up is the "Summer on the Range" quilt with 4 large 21 petalled Dresden Plate quilt that I started in late 2011 and then began organizing the mega project in early 2012. What was I thinking? There was absolutely no way I could do a quilt along and sincerely, my readers knew this, right? Thankfully, my loyal and faithful followers have continued to listen to my ramblings as I took on the Smithers Centennial Quilt. What did you think of that particular quilt, I'd love to hear your thoughts? Then onto my little project on hand applique tiny Dresden Plates from my favourite quilting magazine "Quilt Mania" Unfortunately, I cannot find this magazine now to comment...

1. Start with 3 Fat Quarters, 1 focus fabric, 1 complimentary and 1 sparkle fabrics, lay each on top of each other in a stack.  2. Make two slightly off kilter cuts across and through the whole stack. 3.  Take the first one from the bottom of stack #1 from the left side, place it on top of same stack. 4. Take the bottom two from the center stack and place on top of center stack. 5. Leave the last stack alone. 6. Sew each layer as the fabrics are laid out and make into slightly off kilter blocks.   7. Trim the blocks to whatever size the layered stack is, making sure to use as much of the fabric as possible. You may have to peak into the layers to be sure you've got all three layers.  Once the blocks are sewn together, they form a nifty, fast table runner!
