Modern Makeover Flimsy & Give Away

I've been slipping along, floating down the QuiltyJuice River that began flowing with the latest "cutting and more cutting" assault on my Modern Makeover post a few days ago.

My vision just sort of melted upon the design wall. I had no real plan for this quilt. Nothing even measured, I just kept a good 1/4 in seam allowance and sewed with Baby Lock Melody machine slowly through all the bumps as seams collided with each other. I mean collided.

Collisions like atoms and explosions. I love this freedom!

Once the Ta Da moment of finished flimsey came for me, I was out the door so fast that my dog ran into her bed and was still inside when I came home. You see I don't have majestic museums or long sandy beaches to place my quilts up against for a great photo. But I do have our little old timey celebrity of the historic Quick Anglican Church.

While I've decided that this is a finished top, I do think this wild and free play could be made into a new design which is now on my design pallet.

And now for this gorgeous giveaway for all you loyal followers.

I'm sure you've stumbled upon Lizzie B cre8ive! patterns. I love the work on this innovative and sparkling team over at this company. And this team is wide spread, I'll let you discover her joy!

These are the rules of this little giveaway.

  1. Please do become a follower through email, Bloglovin or by Google Followers Link on this blog.
  2. Once you are a follower, then just leave me a comment about what you think of Lizzie B Cre8tive patterns, have you used these before, what other ideas does her work bring to you?
  3. Deadline for becoming a follower and for entering into this fun little giveaway is August 9th, Sunday, so you've got lots of time to tell your friends to become a follower and share with me.
  4. I'm letting Mr. Good Earth Quilting pick the winner from my funky hat.
Upcoming from the design wall is a little Steam Punk Crazy Quilted Pillow. I don't have a photo of it yet. But just enough embroidery and metal to make you scratch your head and wonder where I'm going these days.

I've been working on many things as I've elluded in previous posts. More posts are coming down the pipe with listings of the inspired people who make a living with helping bloggers become better at blogging. This has been my latest decision to improve what I offer, how I offer it and how you will want to tell your quilty friends.

Plus, more has been done on the "Little Houses" top in the making.

I'll post when this little flimsy is a finished quilt. All for now, have a great weekend quilting.

  4. Hello Carli. Well, I do love your flimsy! I was a bit sceptical when I read your first post but you have made a brilliant job of all this cutting and moving around. Having never heard of Lizzie B I of course had to go and have a look and her colours are just mine! Such a stunning header as well as all her other lovely work. xx

  5. Hi Carli - you know I am a follower! Love the new quilt top. The border is perfect. I was hoping that you would use more of the cornerstone colours there and you did. I'll bet that this quilt will be fun to quilt. I'm not familiar with this pattern company. Will have to do some research!

  6. I'm a follower, but not via the ways you mention. I use Inoreader (after having had several bad experiences with Bloglovin). Not to worry though - I just wanted to say that I am really liking your quilt re-make.
