Taking a break

Image
Hello my faithful followers, I'm writing today with both hands in wrist braces. I've come down with a major carpel tunnel attack. So what can I do with that going on?  I must take a break. It will give me time to sit back and reflect on my quilting life and writing a blog. I've got some new ideas that I think others will appreciate and that all takes time to prepare for and new links for anyone doing a few projects. So take care over the summer and I'll start writing more interesting posts in September. Have a great summer! I'll be spending some time camping here!

Long Weekend Lake Catch

We decided to take a little trip to Owen Lake, near Houston, B.C. When you leave Houston, a mill town, the Main Line Logging Road follows the Morice River for many kilometers. The Morice River, swelled with spring run off is one of the rivers that will be affected by the proposed Gateway Pipeline by Enbridge, Inc.  I truly love camping. We tented for a long time, but as you get older, simply sleeping on a comfy and secure camper bed becomes more appealing.  I had just opened up my camera case, when we saw a  bear up ahead. I was ready with rapid shooting mode, I was so lucky to get two good photos of this young black bear. But then he was gone!  Gone, gone in one leap!  That's got to be 10 ft or more he jumped. When we arrived to the Owen Lake B.C. Recreation Site, which is a free site that is onl...

Vacation Stitching-Shoreline Inspiration

Hello folks, I'm home again from our 100 mile vacation. We traveled along the Houston Main Line to Francoise Lake. There we set up our temporary home right on the shores of Francoise Lake. For several sleeps so to speak. We were really ready for some "quiet time off" and we got it. We didn't have to reserve space, book ahead or anything complicated as that! We simple got in our truck and camper setting off without a plan, other than a general destination. LoraLee Resort on Francoise Lake is highly recommended. I was up to favourite "hubby and me time" on the lake, it was so hot and humid! Nice breeze and lots of water, we were having fun!   I'm the "wiener again" as my hubby teases me, he rarely catches the first fish, I usually do! Lots of 'down time' and fires, BBq's and sleep! Of course, I found time to play with my latest crazy quilt. Its a portable project again!~  All of m...
