Fabriholics Anonymous

Hi, I'm Carli and I'm a fabriholic.  I've been a quilter for two decades and it was only during our last move that I really began to realize how bad it was. I know this is very important step for me to take. I need to declutter my pallet of fabric. To me its a reawakening and I've got so much it must  be done. The bins contain years of seeking and finding just the right fabric for the kind of quilting art I make. I didn't really have much time to do more until recently. So here is goes, I'm culling my stash and let me know if  you are interested in some awesome dated fabric. Yes, I'm mot going to buy fabric for the first 6 months of 2014! WOW, I'm getting a little nervous and I'm resisting the pressure in my little brain to delete it. But know, once I make a statement I intend to keep it.  So our lovely, talented Jess of The Elven Garden has decided and taken action to cull her stash. So I'm getting on board too...

Not a stitch in sight, whirlwind vacation!

Recently, we took 8 days and traveled south to the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and sunny the whole time. This sweet country of rural Canadians is alive with color in season and cultural diversity.  These first two photos are what we left behind.  Sockeye spawning in a creek off Babine Lake. Sorry, we were on a mission to complete the drive in 14hrs to Abbotsford from Telkwa. I wasn't officially site seeing. But the flavor and feel for the poeple comes through in so much that really describes hard working gentle regular Canadians.  Then across to Victoria, BC  Tasteful way to improve a boring brink wall and add to the color of Victoria, BC.  Fine architectural structures even being a rela...

Vacation Stitching-Shoreline Inspiration

Hello folks, I'm home again from our 100 mile vacation. We traveled along the Houston Main Line to Francoise Lake. There we set up our temporary home right on the shores of Francoise Lake. For several sleeps so to speak. We were really ready for some "quiet time off" and we got it. We didn't have to reserve space, book ahead or anything complicated as that! We simple got in our truck and camper setting off without a plan, other than a general destination. LoraLee Resort on Francoise Lake is highly recommended. I was up to favourite "hubby and me time" on the lake, it was so hot and humid! Nice breeze and lots of water, we were having fun!   I'm the "wiener again" as my hubby teases me, he rarely catches the first fish, I usually do! Lots of 'down time' and fires, BBq's and sleep! Of course, I found time to play with my latest crazy quilt. Its a portable project again!~  All of m...
